About Us
Top Class Derbyshire Gritstone Sheep
Since 1975 we’ve been breeding high quality pure bred Derbyshire Gritstone sheep. In 40+ years we've produced over 550 registered breeding rams that have gone on to have a major influence on the breed across the land. The High Moor flock has produced the champion tup at the annual show and sale an unrivaled 15 times since 1983!

At High Moor Farm we run approximately 250 Derbyshire Gritstone ewes at over 1,000 feet above sea-level. The Harrop & Upper Edge flocks are about 20 breeding ewes apiece. Tupping time is from mid-November with lambs born outside from mid-April.

BREEDING FEMALES
This is your chance to buy from the best Derbyshire Gritstone bloodlines in the country. Tups for sale at the annual breed sale at Clitheroe Auction mart (early-mid October) or contact us for private purchases! The High Moor flock has taken the overall male championship at the breed sale a record 15 times (since 1983) and over the years has sold many top priced tups including a high number over 2,000gns or more.
Tups are half your flock so buy the best!
A good ewe is key - we run around 250 Derbyshire Gritstone ewes, so if you are looking for lambs, shearlings or ewes we could have stock to suit...
We sometimes have a limited number of registered females available in late August / September - get in touch for more information.
Buy show quality
In 2021 this Derbyshire Gritstone tup lamb was shown twice - firstly at Todmordon Show where it won its class and reserve overall breed champion. Secondly at the annual breed sale at Clitheroe where it was champion tup lamb and highest priced tup lamb at 2,800gns - equalling the breed's lamb record!
