About Us
Top Class Derbyshire Gritstone Sheep
Since 1975 we’ve been breeding high quality pure bred Derbyshire Gritstone sheep. In 40+ years we've produced over 500 registered breeding rams that have gone on to have a major influence on the breed across the land. The High Moor flock has produced the champion tup at the annual show and sale an unrivaled 14 times since 1983!

At High Moor Farm we run approximately 400 Derbyshire Gritstone ewes at over 1,000 feet above sea-level. Tupping time is from mid-November with lambs born outside from mid-April.

Breeding Rams
BREEDING FEMALES
This is your chance to buy from the best Derbyshire Gritstone bloodlines in the country. Tups for sale at the annual breed sale at Clitheroe Auction mart (early-mid October) or contact us for private purchases! In the last 3 years we've had several tups make 3,000gns or more.
Tups are half your flock so buy the best!
A good ewe is key - we run around 350 Derbyshire Gritstone ewes, so if you are looking for lambs, shearlings or ewes we could have stock to suit...
We will have a small number of registered ewe lambs and shearling ewes available in late August / September - get in touch for more information.

Buy show quality
In 2017 this Derbyshire Gritstone tup lamb was shown twice - first at the Great Yorkshire where it won its class and reserve male champion. Secondly at the annual breed sale at Clitheroe where it was champion tup lamb and highest priced tup lamb at 900gns! In 2018 and 2019 it went on to take breed champion at several shows! Various High Moor bred tups took the breed titles at 2019 shows including The Great Yorkshire, Halifax, Harden Moss, Kilnsey and Westmoreland.
